Eight fire spectacles two years running, last summer for 400,000 visitors
Ename, Belgium · Night walk · Projection mapping & light artists
What the client booked
Due to the persistent drought in the summer of 2026, code red was declared in the province of East Flanders. As a result, the annual fiery route of Ename Vlamt could not go ahead as planned. Together with the whole Lunar Shows team, we turned our fire walk into a full light walk at the last minute, on a very short timeline.
We took care of the entire event. Along a 1 kilometre walk through the historic site of Ename we welcomed around 4,000 visitors. Along the route we provided projection mapping on the museum building and on the trees, light strings, lasers, light artists and light dancers.
The focus was on the historic site itself, which we showed in a new light at night. We also wove in the story of the place: the old watermill came back to life, projected onto the trees with a supporting soundscape. We also produced a full video with historical images of the excavations, the site of Ename and the old abbey. This way visitors not only enjoyed a magical experience, but also learned something about the history of this place.
With a small team of five technicians and five artists we delivered an exceptionally strong performance, to the great satisfaction of the client. A worthy alternative to the annual fire walk.
